Melodies Call Me Home

I have been bed ridden for days (long story). Every week I have this habit of listening to piano melodies to close out a week and to calmly point me towards a new week. As I sit here listening to these melodies, I am instantly aware of the pain within my body and the stress of this week. Every touch of the piano beckons me to take a deep breath. Word to the wise, if you aren’t accustomed to listening piano instrumentals…get accustomed please.

These melodies call me to rest. Gone is the chaos of the week. Listening to these simple notes calls me to a posture of deep breathing. Tears come to my eyes as I think of the ways that I had to push beyond my abilities to get through this week. My limits were tested in various ways. Even with all of that said, melodies call me home. If you don’t have a set of rituals to end a week please consider and adopting portions of my routine. Before you go to bed please consider turning on some instrumentals and seeing what feelings are produced in your body. What things do you notice? Take a few deep breaths. Consider journaling. Whatever you do please take care of yourself. Bless you.
