Thank you for creating new knowledge in these spaces, brother. I feel it is vital for the well-being of the Black community that we are exposed to the form of learning and knowing that you are bringing to us! Please continue to create the manna we all need to enlarge our minds, both spiritually and psychically.

I picked up Prophetic Imagination because I had never read anything by Walter Brueggemann when he recently passed away. I am not quite finished with it yet. But the overly simplistic summary is that the prophet is not a fortune teller, but one of is creating a new imagination for what justice looks like in a world that has become complacent to injustice and no longer can see the theoretical possibility of justice.

I know there are connotations to prophet that you probably do not want to embrace. But in my head, I am going to internally read Black theoethisist as Black (prophetic) theoethicist in the future to remind myself of the powerful role of imagination.

This is great Robert - a great way to approach dissemination of knowledge. I just finished a masters degree in adult education and learning with a focus of grief and death literacy. No strength to do a PhD 😮 but who knows? Congrats on this and all your hard and compassionate work!

Octavia Butler came to me listening to you speak about black imagination. Curious if this could be part of your weave through things?

Congrats on finishing! That sounds interesting. And to answer your question, yes Octavia Butler undoubtedly comes to mind when people mention the topic! Currently many current poets are what I am actively working with and also, some of her work will undoubtedly flow into mine

Really appreciate your voice and perspective. Thank you for being here.

I was curious if you are familiar with the work of Professor John Swinton around Theology of Disability. He has such an interesting and grounded perspective because he was a mental health nurse before becoming a theologian.

Also. I too talk this much with my body! It’s so helpful for me to embody the message when the body language is helping to amplify it.
